Hugo Brünig

Hugo Brünig (born October 13, 1860 in Pabstorf , Halberstadt district , † after 1935) was a German military director and civil servant.

Life

He was the son of the manor owner in Brückenkrug- Jäglin and his wife Amalie nee Zabel. After attending school, Hugo Brünig embarked on a military career, in 1880 he became a lieutenant in the 85th Infantry Regiment. In 1884 he moved to Neumünster and Rendsburg as a battalion adjutant and in 1888 to the directorate. In 1889 he was appointed first lieutenant in the reserve. In the later years he moved to various military directorships in Breslau, Flensburg and Koblenz. In 1904 he was appointed to the secret war council and lecturer council in the catering department of the war ministry. During the First World War he was a member of the Woyrsch Army Group and then the 18th Army . Most recently he was the military director of the XI. Army Corps. As a captain in the Landwehr, he retired.

Most recently he lived in Soltau (Hann.).

family

Hugo Brünig married Köthe, the daughter of Colonel Hertell. Their sons Paul and Otto Brünig also pursued military careers. Paul became captain and Otto first lieutenant and flight lieutenant at Deutsche Lufthansa .
