Hugo Kirnbauer

Hugo Kirnbauer (born June 3, 1918 in Vienna , † May 2, 2006 in Linz , Upper Austria ) was an Austrian radio pioneer , radio author and technician (salutation "engineer").

From 1947 to 1997, Kirnbauer designed and hosted a weekly radio program broadcast in Austria. During the occupation after the Second World War, in November 1947, he was commissioned by the broadcasting group Rot-Weiß-Rot to do a program "For the radio hobbyist". It was broadcast every Saturday for 15 minutes.

From 1955, when the Austrian Broadcasting Company was established, it was renamed to "(Die) Technische Rundschau" and contained current technical innovations in succinct short articles in popular science. From 1967 de Technische Rundschau was broadcast in the ORF's Ö1 program, most recently on Saturday 4:50 pm for 10 minutes.

From 1946 he published the new brochure "How to use Wehrmacht tubes ". This led to the development of the magazine Das Elektron international, first published in 1950 and discontinued in 1986 : Revue for radio, television, electronics and electroacoustics practice-oriented (construction and repair) about radio technology and electronics, consistently in black and white, but with a spot color on the title page of the magazine. Kirnbauer was the editor for a total of 40 years.
