Hugo Meléndez (born June 29, 1984 in Monterrey , Nuevo León ), also known by the nickname Mele , is a former Mexican football player who mainly played in defensive midfield .

career

Meléndez began his professional career in the youth division of his home club CF Monterrey , for which he came on August 14, 2004 in the 2-0 home win against the Tiburones Rojos Veracruz for his first appearance in the Mexican Primera División . His only goal in the top Mexican division, he scored in the 3-1 home defeat to Deportivo Toluca on May 8, 2005.

Between 2004 and 2006 he played 18 appearances in the Primera División for the first team of the Rayados and was otherwise more frequent at the farm team Rayados Monterrey 1A playing in the second division and other teams in the second division , such as the Cobras and the Indios from the Border town Ciudad Juarez , parked.
