Hugo Nünlist

Hugo Nünlist (born March 16, 1910 ; † October 24, 1990 ) was a Swiss cave explorer and author .

Live and act

Hugo Nünlist was a teacher by profession. From the mid-1940s he was mainly involved in cave exploration. In 1948 he and Alfred Bögli began researching the hellhole . In 1949 he founded the first "Hölloch Research Working Group" with Hans Schluchtner and Bruno Baur. He later became the technical director in the exploration of the cave and discovered an entrance to a system of ducts in the cave. In 1960 he left the "Working Group on Hölloch Research" and in 1962 broke off all bridges to Hölloch research.

From 1950 to 1979 Hugo Nünlist was the editor of the newsletter of the Pilatus section of the Swiss Alpine Club . He wrote books on Pilatus , Maderanertal , Göscheneralp and the Swiss expedition to Spitzbergen .

Hugo Nünlist was a brother of Robert Nünlist .
