Alfred Bögli
Alfred Werner Hubert Bögli (born April 1, 1912 in Bern ; † February 11, 1998 in Hitzkirch ) was a Swiss geographer , mineralogist and speleologist .
biography
Alfred Bögli first studied at the University of Bern , where he received his teacher license in 1935. From 1938 he studied at the University of Friborg in the subjects of geography , geology , petrography and mineralogy further and received his doctorate in 1939 for Dr. phil. nat. In 1970, he completed his habilitation in Zurich in the field of karst geomorphology .
From 1941 to 1977, Bögli taught geography and natural sciences at the cantonal teachers' seminar of the canton of Lucerne in Hitzkirch. From 1967 to 1981 Bögli was honorary professor at the Institute for Physical Geography at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main . From 1977 to 1981 he was visiting professor at the Geography Institute of the University of Zurich .
Alfred Bögli was involved in researching the hellhole and documenting its research history. He carried out scientific research, among other things, in the area of small forms of the karst, for example, he worked on step carts and pointed carts . He carried out basic work in the field of mixture corrosion .
