Hukedicht was a Swiss punk rock band from Winterthur . The band was formed in 1994.

history

The band was within the punk rock scene and gave regular concerts in Switzerland, Germany, Holland and other European countries. In total, they played over 200 concerts during their career, especially in the period from 2001 until their breakup in 2006. The style of the band is hard, guitar-driven punk rock without the aid of digital aids such as synthesizers ; the songs are all written in English.

After their first demo CD It's a Hula Hula Burnout in 2000, which is actually an album in itself, their first real album, Turbo Charged Understatement , came out a year later . There is also a music video for the title "Two Bottles of Rum", in which Rams, front man of the punk band The Bucks , founded in 1978 , has a guest performance. After Hukedicht had released a split vinyl with Admiral James T. in 2002, their last independent album was released the following year under the title United Horror of Rock 'n' Roll . On one of them is the title “Son of a Gun” with William White and the other “Hard Rock City”, a homage to her hometown Winterthur.

In 2005 the last production of Hukedicht was released, a split album with Teenage Kings from Zurich. On this CD, called Fist Fight Story , the two bands play five different rounds against each other and finally reconcile with a punk version of the song "We Are the World".

Since the singer of the band, Elvis Trinkel, emigrated to the USA, Hukedicht broke up after a closing party on 21/22. October 2006 in the gasworks in Winterthur, where Peter Pan also played Speedrock . In the USA Elvis founded a group called "Hukedicht USA", which is now active in his new home. Two years later, on December 23, 2008, the old Hukedicht band gave one last concert in the gas works.

On June 1, 2017, Hukedicht gave a first comeback concert. After several concerts and one last concert in the Gaswerk cultural center that was broadcast live by Radio Stadtfilter , Hukedicht broke up again on December 22, 2017.
