The Hummingbird Medal (translated: Kolibiri - Medal ) is a state award in Trinidad and Tobago . The medal has been awarded since 1969 to people who have rendered services to the state or to other people. The medal can be awarded to citizens of Trinidad and Tobago as well as to people from other countries. A maximum of 15 people per year may be awarded the medal, although this number is usually less than this.

Appearance

The ribbon of the medal is held in the colors red, blue, white and black, with a black stripe in the middle, which is separated from the subsequent red stripes by thin white stripes on the left and right. There is a blue stripe on the left and right edges.

The medal itself is circular and is awarded in gold , silver and bronze .
