Hunyuan

Hunyuan ( Chinese 渾源 縣 / 浑源 县 , Pinyin Húnyuán Xiàn ) is a Chinese district in the prefecture -level city of Datong in Shanxi Province . It has an area of 1,965 km² and has a population of around 350,000.

The Xuankong Temple ( 懸空寺 / 悬空寺 , Xuánkōng Sì ), an approximately 1500 year old "hanging" monastery, built vertically on a rock wall, the temple of the Buddhist Jingzhuang Dayun Monastery ( 荊 莊 大雲 寺 大雄寶殿 / 荆 庄大云 寺 大雄宝殿 , Jīngzhuāng Dàyún Sì Dàxióngbǎodiàn ), the tomb of Li Yumei ( 栗 毓美陵 園 / 栗 毓美陵 园 , Lì Yùměi Língyuán ), a famous imperial official of the Yun'an (temple of the Qing period , and 渾源 永安 寺 / 浑源 永安 寺 , Húnyuán Yǒng'ān Sì ), which are on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China .
