Huoshan
The circle Huoshan (霍山县; Pinyin : Huoshan Xiàn) is a circle in the Chinese province of Anhui . It belongs to the administrative area of the prefecture-level city of Lu'an . The district has an area of 2,040 square kilometers, in 2015 it had 362,600 inhabitants.
geography
Houshan lies entirely in the Dabie Shan in the headwaters of the Dongpi He , a tributary of the Pi He . The highest point is the Baimajian (白马 尖) with 1774 meters.
economy
The district is 75% covered with forest. With 30 square kilometers acreage Huoshan is a pioneer area for cultivation of medicinal plants (eg. B. Gastrodia elata , Ganoderma ( Wolfiporia externa ) or Eucommia ulmoides ) for the Chinese medicine. The cultivation area for tea is 90 square kilometers. Houshan is famous for the yellow tea variety Huoshan Huangye (霍山 黄芽). Bamboo is grown on 300 square kilometers; The cultivation area for mulberry trees for sericulture takes up 30 square kilometers , making Houshan one of the ten largest producers of silk.
Houshan has three large reservoirs for generating electricity: the Foziling Reservoir (佛 子 岭 水库), the dam of which is known as "China's first dam" and is therefore a well-known tourist attraction, the Mozitan Reservoir (磨子 潭 水库) and the Bailianya- Reservoir (白莲 崖 水库), as well as 73 smaller hydropower plants.
The National Road 105 runs in a north-south direction by the circle.
