The Huppenkothen GmbH with 18 branches and 81 service points one of Europe's leading suppliers of small and mini equipment from different manufacturers, including the main product mini and compact excavators Takeuchi .

The company's headquarters are in Lauterach (Vorarlberg). Huppenkothen GmbH, which is part of the i + R Group, and its subsidiaries employed 360 people across Europe in the 2018/19 financial year and achieved sales of around EUR 250 million.

In 2007 and 2015, Huppenkothen was one of the Vorarlberg local winners in the “Big Player” category in the Austria's Leading Companies business competition organized by the Wirtschaftsblatt , the auditing firm PricewaterhouseCoopers and KSV1870 .

Huppenkothen sells construction machines , rents them out and offers repair services. There are currently over 5000 machines in the rental park. Huppenkothen is the general importer for Takeuchi in Austria, Switzerland, South Tyrol, Spain, Portugal, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Romania .

history

In 1956, the Huppenkothen company was founded in Bregenz (Vorarlberg). In 1971 Akio Takeuchi ( company Takeuchi ) invented the first 360 ° rotatable mini excavator "TKB1000", which was sold by Huppenkothen in Europe from 1979 under the name Pel-Job . Takeuchi mini excavators have been imported directly since 1985. A partnership was established between the Japanese manufacturer and the construction machinery dealer from Vorarlberg that continues to this day. In the following years, Huppenkothen expanded into Austria, the Czech Republic, Spain and Switzerland, and since 2005 also to Croatia, Hungary, Romania and Slovakia. In 2007 the new company headquarters in Lauterach was completed. In 2009 a branch was opened in South Tyrol. By 2019 the company invested in further Austrian and Swiss locations as well as in the expansion of the Lauterach headquarters.

In 2015, Huppenkothen took over Martin GmbH in Braz, Vorarlberg, as well as a 70 percent partnership in BVB Baumaschinen GmbH in Lanzenkirchen , Lower Austria. In the same year the subsidiary SunCar HK AG was founded in Oberbüren , Switzerland, in which Huppenkothen GmbH has a 50% stake. In 2019, Huppenkothen took over Lorenz Lift GmbH in Feldkirch, Vorarlberg.

Corporate structure

In addition to the Lauterach company headquarters, Huppenkothen operates nine branches in Austria, one branch in South Tyrol, one head office and six branches in Switzerland (the subsidiary Huppenkothen Baumaschinen AG operates here ) and one branch in Spain. The company works with local sales partners in Spain, Andorra, Portugal, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Romania and Slovakia.

The Huppenkothen companies also include the Austrian subsidiaries Martin GmbH (Braz), a manufacturer of excavator attachments, BVB Baumaschinen GmbH (Lanzenkirchen), a construction machinery rental company, and Lorenz Lift GmbH (Feldkirch), a rental company of work platforms and construction machinery. Another subsidiary is the Swiss start-up SunCar HK AG (Oberbüren), which develops electrically powered construction machines and commercial vehicles.
