history

The Huracanes Fútbol Club acquired the second division license to participate in the Liga de Ascenso from Inter Riviera Maya ; a club that was only represented in the league during the 2003/04 season. The Huracanes only took part in the league's game operations during the 2004/05 season, because the media giant Televisa, as the rights holder of the license, transferred it to a new franchise called Águilas Riviera Maya after the end of the season .

Huracanes finished fourth in his group in the Apertura 2004 and missed the Liguillas . In the Clausura 2005 , Huracanes was the second best team and winner of their own group with a balance of 34 points, which this time the Liguillas were reached. Their Mexican striker César Carranza, who scored twelve goals in the league round of this half-season, played a major role in this success. After the team was able to prevail in the quarter-finals against Alacranes de Durango (2: 2 and 2: 1), they were defeated in the semifinals against the eventual tournament winner Querétaro Fútbol Club with an overall result of 0: 6.
