Hushan ( Chinese  湖 山乡 , Pinyin Húshān xiāng ) is a municipality in the southeast of the People's Republic of China . It belongs to the administrative area of the Yongding District , which in turn is subordinate to the prefecture-level City of Longyan in Fujian Province . Hushan Township administers an area of ​​125 square kilometers, 92% of which is forested, with a total population of 12,305 people in 2015. The 2000 census showed a total population of 7,894 people in 2,347 households, of whom 4,042 were men and 3,852 women. The community is located in the south of Yongding near the border with Guangdong Province . It has almost 1,000 hectares of arable land, but around 10,000 hectares of forest. Some of the villages of Hushan are considered to be the starting points of the revolution because of their role in establishing communist bases in the 1930s.

At village level, Hushan is divided into nine villages : Saihua (赛 华 村), Lijia (里 佳 村), Guiping (桂 坪村), Xianghu (象 湖村), Yangshan (杨 山村), Huangkeng (黄 坑村), Sanlai (三 来 村), Zhangxi (漳 溪村), Guixiang (桂 象 村).
