Sharuna (including hat-nesut , Kom el-Ahmar Sawaris ) is since the Old Kingdom occupied ancient Egyptian name of the capital of the 18th Upper Egyptian Falkengaues . Today's place, modern Sharuna , is located in the immediate vicinity in the Al-Minya governorate on the eastern side of the Nile across from Per Medjen .
The manifestation of Hut-nesus, the local god Neb-hut-nesu ( Lord of Hut-nesu ), changed during ancient Egyptian history. In the Old Kingdom it was Nemti , in the New Kingdom Horus and later until the end of the Greco-Roman period Osiris and Sobek .
Haremhab , who mentioned Hut-nesu as his hometown, named Neb-hut-nesu in the form of Horus at the same time as his personal protective deity.
