Huxter is a hamlet on Mainland , the main island of the Shetlands . It is located on the east bank of the Weisdale Voe on the A971 between Hellister and Weisdale . In the east rises the 150 meter high Hill of Huxter, a southern branch of the Hill of Moustoft. Huxter is part of the Community Council Area Tingwall , Whiteness and Weisdale.

Originally, Huxter consisted of two parts located around five hundred meters apart. In South Huxter is the Ervhouse (also Airvhouse), a building from the early 19th century that was formerly used as an inn with overnight accommodation. It has been designated as a Category C Listed Building since July 2007 and is therefore a listed building.

The North Huxter homestead no longer exists, there is only a cemetery today.
