Hylocereus ocamponis is a species of plant in the genus Hylocereus fromthe cactus family (Cactaceae).

description

Hylocereus ocamponis grows climbing with triangular, blue-green shoots and reaches lengths of up to 3 meters with diameters of 5 to 6 centimeters. The ribs are wavy at the edge with a horny, brown edge. From the 2 to 4 centimeters distant areoles arise 5 to 8 needle-shaped, yellowish thorns that are up to 1.5 centimeters long.

The white flowers are 25 to 30 centimeters long and wide. The fruits are yellow or red.

Distribution, systematics and endangerment

Hylocereus ocamponis is common in southwestern Mexico . The first description as Cereus ocamponis was published in 1850 by Joseph zu Salm-Reifferscheidt-Dyck . Nathaniel Lord Britton and Joseph Nelson Rose put it in the genus Hylocereus in 1909 .

In the Red List of Threatened Species of the IUCN , the species is listed as " Least Concern (LC) ". H. listed as not endangered.
