I'd Know You Anywhere is a song composed by Jimmy McHugh for the 1940 comedy film You'll Find Out and written by Johnny Mercer . The song in the film is sung by Ginny Simms, accompanied by Kay Kyser and his orchestra.

In You'll Find Out , the members of an orchestra are engaged to play on the birthday of a young rich heiress. As a result, they uncover a conspiracy against the young woman. Ginny Simms played herself in the film, as did Kay Kyser.

1941 was I'd Know You Anywhere in the category "Best Song" for a Oscar nomination. However, the award went to Leigh Harline and Ned Washington for their song When You Wish upon a Star from the cartoon Pinocchio .

Frank Sinatra sang the song on his album For You . In 1941, Decca released a version of the song by Bing Crosby . The duo Ashford & Simpson also covered I'd Know You Anywhere , as did the country singer Justin Tubb .
