330 North Wabash (also known as the IBM Building ) is a skyscraper 212 meters tall and 52 floors in Chicago , Illinois .
The building was designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe , who, however, died in 1969 before construction began. A small bust by the artist Marino Marini in the entrance hall reminds of the architect. 330 North Wabash is in a public square overlooking the Chicago River . At 212 meters, the skyscraper is the second tallest building designed by Mies van der Rohe and at the same time its last in the USA.
The namesake of the building, IBM, no longer has any offices there, as it was sold by IBM in 1996 to the Blackstone Group and the company completed the move to the new Hyatt Center near Union Station by 2006 .
