The Intercontinental Le Mans Cup (ILMC for short) was a long-distance racing series organized by the Automobile Club de l'Ouest , which was held in 2010 and 2011 according to the rules and guidelines of the 24 Hours of Le Mans .
The Championship
The races of the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup comprised selected events from the continental Le Mans racing series such as the American Le Mans Series , the European Le Mans Series and the Asian Le Mans Series . In the 2010 debut season, the Cup included three events at Silverstone , Road Atlanta and Zhuhai . For the 2011 season, the racing calendar was expanded to include seven events, including the Le Mans 24-hour race.
At the end of the season, the best manufacturer in the LMP1 and GT2 / GTE classes and the best team in each vehicle class were chosen. There is no driver rating.
The Intercontinental Le Mans Cup was awarded world championship status by the World Automobile Federation FIA for the 2012 season and is now part of the World Endurance Championship (WEC).
