I Am Ghost (sometimes spelled I AM GHOST ) is an American post-hardcore band that was formed in Long Beach , California in 2004. You yourself describe your style of music as "Epicore". They combine the aforementioned post-hardcore with dark rock and punk rock .
Band history
After it was founded, the six members worked on their first demo for several months . In order to be recorded by a record label , they distributed their 6-track demo We Are Always Searching for free . In the same year they got a contract with Epitaph Records and released the same demo with 3 more tracks and a new artwork on October 25, 2005 as an EP .
Her first album Lovers' Requiem was released on October 10, 2006.
The year 2007 was marked by an extensive tour through the USA and Europe, as well as a change in the line-up. After the line-up, the band worked in the studio on their second album Those we leave behind , which was released in October 2008.
In 2010 their breakup was announced, which according to one band member was due to the general changes in the music scene and the aging of the band members. In April 2016 the band was reactivated.
Texts
The text of We Are Always Searching was by the poet Jason Paul Fox wrote. In addition, the song title "Civil War and Isolation Thirst" is similar to his poem titles "Civil War" and "Isolation Thirst", but the lyrics are not similar. The text of Lady Madeline In Her Coffin is largely identical to the poem List of Memories , but the band does not name the author .
