Ian Cussick
Ian Cussick (born June 17, 1954 in Dundee ) is a Scottish singer, bassist and songwriter.
Career
Ian Cussick has played in various bands since he was 14 years old, but with moderate success. In 1973 he replied to an advertisement in Melody Maker ("Singer wanted") and flew to Germany to participate in the band Lake , whose singer he was until 1974. In 1975 he was a member of the band Linda and the Funky Boys , who landed a hit with the early disco piece Shame, Shame, Shame ; about six million singles were sold.
In his 30-year solo career, Ian Cussick has produced twelve studio albums, two EPs and four live albums. Cussick was also the singer of the theatrical version of the commercial song Like Ice In The Sunshine . The 1986 single version by Beagle Music Ltd. he wasn't involved.
Since 1982 Ian Cussick has been active as a duo with keyboardist Jens Skwirblies mainly in Germany. Best known songs are Meet Me By The Water , Wonderlove , a tribute to Stevie Wonder and Dancing In The Desert . As a songwriter, Ian Cussick wrote the hit Call Me Up for Baccara in 1987 , Men's Pension for Engelbert and for Marky Mark No Mercy in honor of world boxing champion Dariusz Michalczewski .
In 2008 Ian Cussick founded his own label "Iceberg Media LLC" in Austin (Texas) , with which only his own works have been sold so far.
Since December 2012 Ian Cussick has been the lead singer of the band Lake again .
