biography

Aydın was born in Heidelberg, but grew up in Berlin-Lichterfelde , where he came into contact with breakdancing when he was about twelve years old. Shortly thereafter, he discovered the rest of the elements of hip-hop, especially graffiti, and was more interested in hip-hop culture than in school. At 17 he left school without a qualification, did not start any training and worked as a dog breeder for a while. After his marriage and the birth of his son, he moved to Berlin-Köpenick .

Between 1985 and 2001 he was the founder of various sprayer (writer), breakdance and MC crews. These include the MC, B-Boy, Writer and DJ crew 36 Boys from Berlin-Kreuzberg , founded in 1988 , which later became known as the youth gang, as well as the MC group Islamic Force , with whom he released several records. According to the hip-hop magazine Backspin , the b-boy and writer crew "Glorious Five Artists (GFA)" he founded in 1987 were among the best writer crews in Europe. Other crews are the world's only eleven-part beatbox orchestra Oralic Sound Machines , which he founded together with Dj Mesia in 2001 and the breakdance crew Battle Bunch (2000). He was also a co-inventor of the beatboxing championship, which has spread to Australia .

Maxim performed mostly live. In 2002 he released the tape "Floorwars", which mainly contained live recordings and beats by Maxim and which were to be followed by other recordings.

On the day of his 33rd birthday, he was fatally injured after an argument between his wife and a 76-year-old. His death and the acquittal of the pensioner caused a sensation. The acquittal of the 76-year-old - on the grounds that he was overwhelmed by the situation - caused tumults when the verdict was announced and was criticized by various groups. After the verdict against revision was filed, the judgment should by the Federal Court to be examined. Maxim was seen as a figure of integration and was involved throughout his life and a. strong against violence.

To commemorate Maxim, his work and to support his wife and son, the "Maxim Memorial Jam" was held several times, at which, among others, Kool Savas , Spezializtz , Eko Fresh and the Flying Steps performed. In 2005 the “Memorial Jam” was canceled by the organizers because Bushido , who was both one of the main artists and co-organizer of the event, was arrested in Austria. In December of the same year the "Maxim Memorial Sampler" appeared, on which numerous artists such as Fler , Sido , B-Tight , Jack Orsen , Taktloss , Eko Fresh, Kool Savas and Amar were represented. Many of the pieces have a direct personal connection to Maxim.
