Ian "Pepe" Goodison (born November 21, 1972 in Montego Bay , Jamaica ) is a Jamaican football player.

The central defender is currently under contract with English third division club Tranmere Rovers ; With 102 A-internationals he holds the record for the still active players and thus has the second most A-internationals in Jamaica in the all-time table .

Goodison began his professional career at Seba United in his hometown, for the 1997/98 season he moved to the Jamaican capital club Olympic Garden . Despite his success at the international tournaments in 1998, a European club did not notice him until the end of 1999, the third division Hull City ; In 2002, his contract there was not renewed after 67 games with three goals and he went back to Jamaica, where he played for Tivoli Gardens FC .

In February 2004 he was brought back to England by former Hull coach and then Tranmere Rovers coach Brian Little ; he was used as a right defender, with which he could not get along; only when a new coach pushed back into central midfield, he became a top performer of the Rovers; Since the 2006/07 season he is captain of the team.

Goodison came on March 3, 1996 against Guatemala for his first international match, he quickly became a regular for the team during the ongoing qualification for the 1998 World Cup . At the end of the successful qualification, Goodison was Jamaica's captain; Before the 1998 World Cup, he led the selection of his home country into the quarter-finals of the 1998 CONCACAF Gold Cup .

In 2002 his international career seemed to end because of injuries after 88 missions, but he was surprisingly called back to the team at the end of 2003. After its 100th assignment in November 2004, it was not considered for three years, but at the end of 2007 and early 2008 it was used again for selection.
