Ian Maywald

Ian Marc Maywald (born November 29, 1979 ) is a German badminton player . He continues the badminton tradition of the family in the third generation. The European champion Roland Maywald is his father, the badminton official Siegfried Maywald was his grandfather.

Career

Ian Maywald took part in the Badminton World Championships in 1999 before winning his first medal at German championships. It wasn't until 2001 that he won his first national medal with silver in the men's singles. In 2002 and 2009 bronze followed in the men's doubles. In 2005 he became German team champion with the 1st BC Beuel.
