Ian Gordon Morris (* 22. January 1957 in England ; † 7. October 2010 in Napier ) was a New Zealand pop-rock - guitarist , singer and music producer .
Life
Ian Morris was born in England and came to New Zealand with his parents when he was 9 years old. From 1975 to 1980 (and from 2006 to 2008) he worked in the New Zealand rock band Th 'Dudes as guitarist and background singer, with whom he released 6 albums. In the rest of the time he was mainly active as a music producer for New Zealand pop / rock acts. Under the pseudonym Tex Pistol he published pop-rock ballads from 1986, and twice reached number 1 in the charts.
