Iarbonel

Iarbonel , also Iardanel , nicknamed "the fortune teller", "the prophet", is a legendary figure in the Celtic mythology of Ireland after Lebor Gabála Érenn ("The Book of the Lands of Ireland") . He is one of Nemed's sub-leaders in the conquest of Ireland .

In different versions of Lebor Gabála Érenn , Iarbonel is mentioned as the ancestor of the Tuatha Dé Danann . He is said to have been a father or grandfather of Allaoi and Fuamnach . In his family tree, Agnomain from Scythia , Nemed and Béothach are given as his ancestors. The Dagda also comes from this line . With Ériu , also a descendant of Iarbonel, the Fomoir Elatha sires the Bress , who becomes king of the Tuatha Dé Danann.
