Ichirō Doi

Ichirō Doi ( Japanese 土井 一郎 , Doi Ichirō ; * around 1955) is a Japanese jazz musician ( piano , e-piano ).

Ichirō Doi played in the Japanese jazz scene from the 1970s; first recordings were made in 1976 with the Hachirō Kurita Trio and Kōnosuke Saijō ( Let Me Love You ). In 1978 he recorded with the Mabumi Yamaguchi Quartet ( Leeward (1978), with Ikuo Sakurai , Hideo Sekine ); At the beginning of the following decade he was a member of the band Isao Suzuki & New Family, with whom he recorded four albums. In 1984/85 he played with the flautist Tamami Koyake , to be heard on their recordings with Hank Jones and Larry Coryell . In the field of jazz, Tom Lord lists him in nine recording sessions between 1976 and 1991, most recently with the singer Aoi Katō ( Mauve ).
