Ichthyolestes ("fish thief") is a genus of extinct early whales of the Pakicetidae family that were native to northern Pakistan and lived in the lutetium .

Ichthyolestes, the oldest of the Pakicetids , had semicircular canals in the inner ear the size of the living relatives of the Cetaceans, the Artiodactyls, as opposed to the smaller size found in later Pakicetids and Protocetids such as Remingtonocetus, Indocetus, and Dorudon and extant whales.
