Ido Angelo Cattaneo (born July 25, 1905 in Italy ; † June 7, 2000 in St. Moritz , Switzerland ) was an Italian- Swiss ski racer .

biography

At the Alpine World Ski Championships in St. Moritz in 1934, Cattaneo won the bronze medal in downhill skiing at the same time as the Swiss Heinz von Allmen . It was the first medal for the Italian men's ski team since the introduction of the World Championships.

In 1952 Cattaneo, from Laino in the Italian province of Como , who had lived in St. Moritz since 1930 and ran a garage with his brother Mino , was naturalized in Madulain ( Graubünden ) in Switzerland.
