The 4th Alpine World Ski Championships took place from February 15 to 17, 1934 in St. Moritz , Switzerland . Austrian runners did not start because the ÖSV did not send a team because of the February fights . At the time the competition was called the FIS championship or simply the FIS race , it was not until 1937 that the events were officially called World Championships .
