Idrieus or Hidrieus († 344 BC ) ruled from 351 BC. BC as satrap of Caria (on the southwest coast of today's Turkey ). He was one of the Hecatomnids , the son of Hekatomnos and thus brother of Ada , Artemisia II , Maussolos and Pixodaros . His mother is unknown.

Idrieus was married to his sister Ada and, after the death of Artemisia , became Satrap of Caria with Ada. Sibling marriages were in the dynasty usual, the Hekatomniden. Idrieus ruled for seven years. During this time Artaxerxes III attacked . Egypt and later Sidon . Sidon was captured and the residents fled to Cyprus . Artaxerxes then ordered the satrap of Caria to assemble an army to retake Cyprus. Idrieus succeeded in doing this in 345 BC. Chr.

344 BC Idrieus died of an illness. He had previously declared his wife and sister Ada to be his successor, which was, however, a mistake because her younger brother Pixadoros Ada fell. Because of this, the power of Caria, which Maussolos had built and Idrieus had increased, was slowly being lost. Ten years after Idrieu's death, Caria was ruled by the Persians .

Shortly before his death, Idrieus had the temple for the main local god Zeus Labraundos , which his brother Maussolos had begun, completed in Labraunda near the city of Mylasa (today Milas) .
