Ieke van den Burg
Hendrika Cornelia Johanna (Ieke) van den Burg (born March 6, 1952 in Apeldoorn ; † September 28, 2014 ) was a Dutch politician ( PvdA ).
Van den Burg worked in the graphic industry and held several positions at Federatie Nederlandse Vakbewegunging , including in the women's secretariat. She was a member of the European Parliament from 1999 to 2009 . There she was mainly responsible for economic issues and consumer protection. She also became an alternate member of the Convention for the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union in 2000 . As chairwoman she was also a member of the board of the multi-stakeholder organization Fair Wear Foundation .
