Ignace Marie Joseph Thérès Corneille Vandecasteele (born October 26, 1926 in Mortsel ; † May 31, 2018 in Antwerp ) was one of the most successful Flemish study composers .

Through the book Schaakstukken spelen U voor he got to know the aesthetic aspects of the art of endgame . His strengths were studies with few figures, domination, systematic movement and mating .
