Ignatz Wimmer
Ignatz "Igi" Wimmer (born February 2, 1908 in Landshut ; † June 4, 1999 there ) was a German cinema operator.
Life
He comes from an old Passau family of teachers to which the composers Heinz Wimmer and Karl Wimmer also belong. After his return from Soviet captivity, Wimmer began working in the cinema industry with his brothers and mother Anna Wimmer in 1950 . He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Bavarian Film Theater Association for 30 years, including twelve years as the main board. He fought against the entertainment tax for going to the cinema and coined the saying good light, good sound and full box office .
Wimmer was the uncle of Franz and Helmfried Kober .
