Ignaz Dullinger

Ignaz Dullinger (born January 31, 1803 in Münzkirchen , † July 30, 1878 in Datschitz ) was an Austrian court and church painter.

He was in the family of Joseph Dullinger and Marie, nee Kramerová was born. From 1828 to 1830 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna .

First he worked in Vienna, where from 1834 he took part in several academic exhibitions with paintings on religious subjects. In the 1830s he was Franz Joseph I 's first drawing teacher . After 1840 he was appointed to Dačice as a children's teacher by Friedrich Ferdinand Dalberg and stayed there for life. He made copies of a series of portraits, drawings and oil paintings that were kept in the facility of what is now the State Palace.

His pictures, sundials and coats of arms have been preserved in Dačice to this day. His paintings are in the churches in the vicinity of Dačice: in Lipolec (German Lipolz) the representation of the death of St. Lambert von Neuwerk on the main altar and the death of St. Joseph on the side altar (1862), in Sitzgras altarpiece in the church of St. Peter and Paul (1864), in Kirchwiedern the image of a saint on the altar of St. Johannes Nepomuk (1866). For the Church of St. Aegidius in Moravské Budějovice he painted a picture of St. Wendelin .

Ignaz Dullinger was buried in the old cemetery in Dačice.
