Ignazio da Laconi
Ignazio da Laconi (born December 17, 1701 in Laconi in Sardinia, † May 11, 1781 in Cagliari in Sardinia) was an Italian Capuchin and mystic . He is venerated as a saint in the Catholic Church .
Life
Ignazio was a cattle herder when he was young. After falling ill at 18, he made a vow to join an order after recovering . After recovering from the disease for two years, he forgot the vow until he fell from his horse. Now he entered the Capuchin monastery in his hometown and worked as a collector brother for more than 45 years from 1736 until his death . Already during his lifetime he is said to have possessed the gifts of healing the sick and of prophecy . Ignatius was born in 1951 by Pope Pius XII. canonized.
