Laconi is a municipality on the Italian island of Sardinia with 1759 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019). The village is called "Village of Menhirs ". It is the seat of the originally Catalan noble family Aymerich, whose castello (as a ruin), park and palazzo next to the museum are among the sights of the place.
geography
Laconi is located about 70 kilometers north of Cagliari and about 50 kilometers east of Oristano at an altitude of about 550 meters above sea level in the woodland of the Sarcidano in the extreme east of the province of Oristano . Neighboring communities are Aritzo ( NU ), Asuni , Gadoni (NU), Genoni ( SU ), Isili (SU), Meana Sardo (NU), Nuragus (SU), Nurallao (SU), Nureci , Samugheo , Senis and Villanova Tulo (SU ).

- In the “Museo delle Statue Menhir” there are 40 Copper Age statues of the Ozieri culture from Trachyte , some from the giant grave of Aiòdda and some from Nurallao and the surrounding area .

traffic
Laconi owns a station on the narrow-gauge Isili – Sorgono railway line , which is served by Trenino Verde in the summer months . The state roads SS128 and SS442 meet in Laconi.
Personalities
To St. Ignatius of Laconi , b. December 17, 1701 in Laconi, the local church is consecrated. Until his death he worked as a modest mendicant monk and died, almost blind, adored by the population who erected a memorial for him.
