The village of Busachi is located in the province of Oristano , in Sardinia in the historical area of Barigadu . The municipality has 1241 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) and an area of 59.31 square kilometers.
Busachi is a hillside village divided in two by the Via Brigata Sassari (SS388). It is 380 m above sea level. The houses in the winding streets are made of red trachyte . The area around the village is densely overgrown with cork oaks .
The older residents wear their colorful costumes with great emphasis . The traditional costumes and their production are just as much a theme in the Museo del Costume e del Uno (museum) as the production of woven fabrics.
Nearby is the former Roman city of Forum Traiani (today Fordongianus ) with its Romana thermal baths and the Domus de Janas of Grugos.
