Statik Selektah (* 23 January 1982 as Patrick Baril in Lawrence , Massachusetts ) is an American hip-hop DJ and producer. He is under contract with the Showoff Records label .
Life
The son of Owen and Kathleen Baril started producing hip-hop beats in 1995. Previously, Selektah had already worked as a DJ at school parties since the seventh grade. Since then he has received various US music awards.
Selektah is particularly well known for its collaboration with Nas , Termanology and 50 Cents hip-hop label G-Unit Records . The producer mixes the artists' songs on numerous tapes.
Selektah also does mix shows for FM and satellite radio stations in the United States.
In November 2007 he released his first producer album entitled "Spell My Name Right" via Showoff Records / Brick Records. The guest rappers include hip-hop greats such as KRS-One , Large Professor , Q-Tip and Doug E. Fresh, alongside many underground artists such as Termanology and Consequence.
