Ignis Fatuu (from Latin ignis fatuus - will- o'-the - wisps ) is a German medieval rock band from Nuremberg that has existed since 2004 .

history

Ignis Fatuu was founded in November 2004 in Nuremberg. After a few line-up changes, Alexander Trappe joined in 2006. In 2007 the band released a promo CD with 5 songs. A year later, the band took part in the Festival Mediaval , where they performed with bands like Ingrimm , Arundo and Zwielicht . In 2009, Volker Semmelmann became the band's bassist. She released her debut album Let There Be Light after signing a recording deal with Danse Macabre Records . In 2010 they switched to the record label Trollzorn Records .

The band played at various medieval music festivals: Hörnerfest 2008 in Brande-Hörnerkirchen, dance! 2008 & 2010 in Kufstein , Feuertanz Festival 2010 in Abenberg, M'era Luna 2010 in Hildesheim, Celtic Rock Open Air 2010 at Burg Greifenstein and the Bordun Rocknächte 2010 in Schkopau.

In 2011 Ignis Fatuu were the opening act for Feuerschwanz and appearances at the Ragnarök and Hexentanz Festival. Furthermore appearances at the Festival Mediaval , the Wacken Open Air , the Schlosshof and the Burgfolk Festival. On April 1st of that year the second studio album was released with the title Neue Ufer .

From February 2012 Peter Müller (Peter Pathos) joined the band as an additional guitarist. Singer Alexander Trappe left the formation at the end of the 2012 live season; new singer was PG (formerly Merlons Lichter ). With Alexander Zwingmann and Robert Herold, two of the three founding members of Ignis Fatuu left the band in November 2013.

On March 24, 2014, the album Infinite Many Paths entered the German charts at number 91 . Further personnel changes took place in 2014 and 2015. The band played at the Fire Dance Festival and the Festival Medial in 2015. She announced the release of the next album for 2016.
