Zwielicht is a medieval rock band that was founded in 2007 in Regensburg .

history

The medieval band Zwielicht was founded at the beginning of 2007 by Oliver Fischer and Regina Laxgang. Benedikt Dreher, Christof Uhlmann, Alexander Gotthardt, Benjamin Kroll and Thomas Stumpf later joined the group. In autumn 2007 the band released their first demo CD. In 2008, Zwielicht was already on tour with Fiddler's Green . A year later she was the opening act for the band Schandmaul on the Anderswelt tour . In the same year the band won the Festival Mediaval Award in Selb , which gave them a record deal. Zwielicht were able to prevail against Ingrimm , Ignis Fatuu and Arundo and produce a promo DVD at Zeberus Records.

Since February 2009 Benjamin Kroll has also been part of the live cast of the Sava group .

In early 2009, the band released their debut album Zeitlos , which was distributed through Otter Records. So far the band has played in Germany, Austria and Switzerland .

In 2010, Zwielicht appeared at several festivals, including the Wave-Gothic-Treffen in Leipzig for the first time , and made three appearances with Corvus Corax .

In February 2011 the group performed together with Nachtgeschrei in Ingolstadt. Also in February 2011, the band released their second CD Das tiefste Ich on the label Banshee Records . At the release party, the group Vroudenspil appeared in the opening act. Banshee also releases albums by Dunkelschön , Faun , Omnia , Sava and Schelmish . The debut album Zeitlos was also reissued by Banshee.

In summer 2011 guitarist Thomas Stumpf left the band and was replaced by Roland Huber. On August 19, 2011 the group played at the Cave Gladium in Furth im Wald .

style

The musical style of Zwielicht can be compared with Schandmaul and, initially, also with Rabenschrey . On the first album, the medieval instruments play the main role, while the modern musical instruments play a secondary role. On the new album, the guitar and drums come to the fore. The band continues to operate with several singers and a female singer.
