Igor Šoltes

Igor Šoltes (born August 22, 1964 in Ljubljana ) is a Slovenian lawyer and politician .

Life

Šoltes studied law at the University of Ljubljana . Šoltes is the chairman of the Verjamem! and since 2014 member of the European Parliament , where he has joined the group The Greens / European Free Alliance . There he is deputy chairman of the Committee on Budgetary Control and in the delegation for the Parliamentary Stabilization and Association Committee EU-Serbia and a member of the Committee on Internal Market and Consumer Protection.

Since November 2017 he has been the EU Special Representative for Kosovo , succeeding the Austrian Ulrike Lunacek .

Igor Šoltes is the grandson of the former Yugoslav politician Edvard Kardelj .
