EU special envoy
Special Representatives of the European Union (EUSB, English EU Special Representatives, EUSR ) are persons on the proposal of the High Representative of the Union for Foreign and Security Policy by the Council of the European Union according to Article 33 of the EU Treaty to carry out certain tasks in the field of common foreign affairs - and security policy (CFSP).
EU special envoy
As of June 2015 there are nine EU special representatives:
- Afghanistan : Franz-Michael Skjold Mellbin (since September 1, 2013). Responsibilities: Implementation of the EU's Afghanistan policy in close cooperation with the UN and management of the EU mission in Kabul.
- Bosnia and Herzegovina : Johann Sattler (since September 1, 2019). Tasks: Support in the implementation of the Framework Agreement for Peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina and in the Stabilization and Association Process; Peacekeeping (see also High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina )
- Horn of Africa : Alexander Rondos (since January 1, 2012)
- South Caucasus : Toivo Klaar (since November 13, 2017). Tasks: Supporting Armenia , Azerbaijan and Georgia with reforms, conflict prevention and containment, repatriation of refugees , support of states in cooperation in the economic, energy and transport sectors.
- Kosovo : Nataliya Apostolova (since August 4, 2016)
- Human Rights : Eamon Gilmore (since March 1, 2019)
- Middle East Peace Process : Fernando Gentilini (April 15, 2015)
- Sahel : Angel Losada (since November 1, 2015)
- Central Asia : Peter Burian (since April 15, 2015). Tasks: strengthening democracy , the rule of law and human rights ; Improving EU-Central Asia relations.
