history
Mentioned as Aspensinga in 902 , the presumably former Alemannic ducal estate was owned by the Counts of Nellenburg and the St. Georgen monastery. The lords of Espasingen were noblemen from 1106–1169, ministerials from 1263–1395, and later evidently citizens of Stein am Rhein. The lower court had been held by the Lords of Bodman since the 15th century at the latest , the taxes went to the knighthood of Hegau , all other sovereign rights were with the Landgraviate of Nellenburg . With this Espasingen fell to Württemberg in 1806 and to Baden in 1810.
At the end of March 1972, 244 citizens of Espasingen out of 392 eligible voters cast their votes: 175 voted for and 67 against the incorporation into Stockach. Six months later, on October 31, 1972, the Espasingen municipal council decided with 8: 1 votes to incorporate Espasingen into the city of Stockach.
On January 1, 1973 Espasingen was incorporated into Stockach. Since the Stockach district was dissolved on January 1, 1973 , Espasingen moved to the enlarged Konstanz district at the same time.
In the middle of September 1982 Espasingen won first prize in the competition Our village should become more beautiful .

Postal services
Stockach was already an important post office in the 16th century. For centuries, large, interstate equestrian and postal courses on the Ulm - Basel , Stuttgart - Zurich and Vienna - Paris routes converged here. In 1845 the local post office still had 60 horses.
Before 1821, private individuals had to hand in their mail at the Stockach post office themselves. Then the establishment of an official messenger establishment made it possible for private individuals to hand over their mail to an official messenger. Initially, he brought the post to the Stockacher Post Expedition twice, later three times a week. In the 1850s, due to the steadily increasing correspondence, the Amtbotenanstalt was abolished, its services were transferred to the post office and on May 1, 1859 the rural postal authority was brought into being. Among other things, the following messenger district was set up in the Stockach district:
- Messenger District No. III, Monday to Saturday: Espasingen– Bodman - Stahringen –Wahlwies– Orsingen - Nenzingen –Risstorf – Stockach
Items of mail that had been thrown into the respective letter tray on site were given a clock wheel stamp by the postman , in Espasingen with the 18th , before being forwarded .
