Igor Abakoumov (born May 30, 1981 in Berdjansk , Ukraine ) is a former Belgian cyclist with Ukrainian roots.

Career

He started his career in 2004 with the Belgian cycling team Chocolade Jacques-Wincor Nixdorf and won the Noord-Nederland Tour . In 2005 he moved to the Continental Team Jartazi Granville , for which he won a stage at the Tour de l'Ain 2006. The 2007 season he drove with the Kazakh ProTeam Astana . Between 2008 and 2010 he drove with smaller teams without achieving further victories. After the 2010 season he ended his international career.
