Igor Gabilondo del Campo (born February 10, 1979 in San Sebastián ) is a Spanish football player who plays for AEK Larnaka in Cyprus .
Player career
Igor Gabilondo is one of the few Basque players who has made a splash outside the Basque Country. The strong central midfielder Gabilondo, whose home club Real Sociedad is, has also attracted the interest of English clubs with his playing strength, who compared him to Xabi Alonso from Liverpool FC . Despite lucrative offers, he finally decided to move to the legendary Basque club Athletic Bilbao . After six years in Bilbao, Gabilondo moved to Cyprus for AEK Larnaka in the summer of 2012 .
