Igor Igorewitsch Matwijenko , Russian И́горь И́горевич Матвие́нко , (born February 6, 1960 in Moscow , Soviet Union ) is a Russian music producer and composer . He is the founder and songwriter of the Russian band Ljube .

biography

Igor Matviyenko was born in Moscow in 1960 as the son of a soldier. In 1980 he attended a music college where he led a choir . A year later he began his work as a composer and performer in various music groups.

Matwienko was awarded the titles of People's Artist of the USSR and Order of Friendship .

In 2012 he became the official trustee of Russian President Vladimir Putin . At the closing ceremony of the Winter Olympics in Sochi , his composed songs were heard at Home in a Foreign Country and Goodbye, Moscow .

Elements of the opening ceremony of the Paralympic Games in 2014 were the songs Cme for… by the group Ljube and The Last Letter .
