Order of Friendship
The Order of Friendship ( Russian Орден Дружбы ) is a state award of Russia , which is given to both Russian citizens and foreigners. The award was donated on March 2, 1994 by Ukas No. 442 of the President of the Russian Federation and is regarded as the successor to the Soviet Order of Friendship of Peoples .
According to the statute, the award is given to persons who have made contributions to the promotion of friendship and cooperation with the Russian Federation in the fields of science, culture, economy and peace.
Description of the order
The order shows in its center a stylized globe surrounded by a wreath of green olive branches, set in a pentagonal gold star. On the back is the inscription "Мир и дружба" ("Peace and Friendship") and the serial number of the corresponding order. The ribbon of the order has the colors light blue and green.
