Ihor Ohirko

Ihor Wassylowytsch Ohirko ( Ukrainian І́гор Васи́льович Огі́рко ; English transcription Igor Ohirko; born April 14, 1952 in Oserna , Ternopil Oblast , Ukrainian SSR ) is a Ukrainian mathematician and professor of electronic publishing at the Ukrainian Academy of Printing in Lviv .

Life

In 1974 he began studying applied mathematics at the Ivan Franko University in Lviv . In 1978 he completed his dissertation on mathematical methods of optimization and design. He then worked at the Institute of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences and the Lviv State University. In 1989 he completed his habilitation on numerical optimization in the theory of nonlinear thermoelasticity at the Kazan State University .

Since 1990 he has been president of the international club “Applied Mathematics”. In 1991 he became a member of the Academy of Information Science in Moscow. Since September 2008 he has been the rector of the Eastern Europe Institute in Lviv. From 1992 he was a professor of applied mathematics at the Ukrainian Academy of Printing Technology. He was also a professor of electronic publishing at the Ukrainian Academy of Book Printing. Ohirko holds twelve patents.

Ohirko also taught mathematical linguistics, computer simulation, computer science, and neural networks.
