Oserna ( Ukrainian Озерна ; Russian Озёрная Osjornaja , Polish Jezierna ) is a village in the western Ukrainian Oblast of Ternopil with about 3,600 inhabitants (2006).
A battle of the Russo-Polish War from 1654 to 1667 took place near the village, founded in 1469 .
Oserna is located in Sboriv district on the bank of the Vossushka ( Восушка ), a 34 km long left tributary of the Strypa . The district center of Sboriw is 16 km to the west, the oblast center of Ternopil about 23 km southeast of Oserna. The N 02 road runs through the village . The village has a train station on the Krasne – Odessa railway line .
Oserna was the only village in the district council of the same name until 2015 , on August 12, 2015 the village became the center of the newly founded rural community Oserna ( Озернянська сільська громада Osernjanska silska hromada ). At that include also the seven villages Bilkiwzi ( Білківці ) Bohdaniwka ( Богданівка ) Danyliwzi ( Данилівці ) Jazkiwzi ( Яцківці ) Ostaschiwzi ( Осташівці ) Syrowary ( Сировари ) and Zebriw ( Цебрів ).
