from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

You are a greenhorn, sir! is a play by Helmut Baierl based on Karl May ( Winnetou I ), which waspremiered in 1984 in Berlin in the "Theater of Friendship" .

action

Karl May from Saxony comes to Saint Louis to earn his living as a tutor. Everyone there sees the young man as the “ greenhorn ”, not realizing that besides reading and writing he can also ride, shoot and beat; and he learned all that from Dresden and Pirna .

Hired as a surveyor with the Pacific Company, he soon becomes the legendary Old Shatterhand .

A story told with a wink against the historical background of the civil war between northern and southern states. With little dramaturgical effort also well suited for the open-air theater .
